David Wright House Saved in Arizona

The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy has announced that they have successfully brokered a deal to save the David and Gladys Wright House from destruction. The house was purchased by an anonymous benefactor. The structure’s care will be transferred to a non-profit for restoration. The house is significant because it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for his son David. I wrote a post about this house last month, and I am happy to see that another of Wright’s designs will be preserved for future generations.

Help Save a Frank Lloyd Wright House

The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy is a group dedicated to ensuring that the buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright are around for future generations to enjoy. They provide a wide variety of services and publications that are sure to interest all fans of Wright’s designs. I have been following the group for some time and thought I would share some of their work. Visit their website to learn more about what they do and to become a member.

The house that the Conservancy is currently working to save is the David and Gladys Wright House in Phoenix, Arizona. The home is currently for sale, and they are hoping to find a buyer who is interested in preserving the structure. The ensure the house is preserved, the Conservancy is hoping to have the home designated a historic structure by the city of Phoenix. They have an online petition they will present to the City of Phoenix on December 5. They currently have 28,000 signatures and are hoping to get 35,000. Please CLICK HERE to sign the petition and help save one of Wright’s incredible designs.
